December 31, 2012

2012 was a special year. Be it your family or career, I'm sure you had a lot to take from this 'end-of-the-world' year and have some good memories to take along with you ahead. As the year comes to an end, many of us make resolutions for the new year. Even I did back in Dec 2011. Some things I did exceptionally well, while in some areas I need to continue to focus. And that tells me that my last post in 2012 should be on 'focus' as that's one attribute that I value a lot and try to cultivate in myself. It has always helped me. Focus. What does it means to you? If you do a google search query: define focus, it will show you that focus (noun) is the center or interest or activity.

We are always taught to work hard, learn new things, develop our skills, give more but I've seen many folks fumble despite having all these good qualities. Why? Simple (reason) - they lost focus half way. They were no longer interested in the activity and started finding an escape route on the pretext of something better. It doesn't work like that. If you are passionate about something, you have to keep yourself focused towards delivering against the odds. I know it's very tough to stay along with something which may not be giving you immediate results but if you know you are doing it right, giving your 100% percent, and have the right attitude - you should just continue to focus on that. It's extremely important to not give up on yourself and not allow others to distract you. At the end, you will come out with a way and trust me, it'll be great. I've come across such situations often in my life and a lot of times it was my inner belief and focus which guided me in the right direction. My personal experiences make me strongly vouch for the need to 'focus'.

This post is a little offbeat and different than what I usually write but I thought it would be good to share so that in case you are making your resolutions for 2013 then you can consider adding 'focus' to your list. Try it this time, and if you find it beneficial then come back and share with me in the comments section below.

Here's me, signing off for 2012!

Stay focused,
