What's maktion all about?
Updated: February 17, 2013

Hola! Thanks for dropping by. Here you'll get to know everything you wanted to know about maktion. Technically, maktion is a blog. Passionately, it's a small space on the web where Arif writes about everything creative, digital and some personal notes. The journey started way back in 2008 from a little hostel room in Mumbai. In India, creativity is not taught in schools and colleges and gets very less attention during a student's foundation years. We all are taught to be competitive, but never creative. Creativity is not just about painting the sun yellow and trees green, it's way much more than that and whether you agree or not, creativity needs to be constantly cultivated so that we generate problem solvers, not problem attendants. Understanding this gap, I conceptualized maktion, a blog which aims to harbor creative stories both from his personal experience and those in which he found some inspiration. In today's multi-connected world, every second something new is being explored and exhibited around the world. Today, we all are connected and communication is the new power. Our experience is enhanced by 24x7 smart creativity. In a nutshell, this blog attempts to capture such practices to share, discuss, learn and ultimately make you experience.creativity.

And who's Arif?

Arif Khan, Digital Marketing
I'm Arif Khan, a Digital Marketing pro who blends creativity, analytics and social media for creating digital experiences & marketing effectiveness. I've worked for more than 4.5 years predominantly in Marketing and am currently with TCS at Mumbai. Before this, I worked with IMS Health. Please note, all views on this blog are completely my own.
You can connect with me on Twitter & LinkedIn.

If you ask what creativity means to me, I'd be quick in replying 'My blood group is B-Creative!' I like to play with words and shapes as I believe these units of conversation can be transformed into powerful mediums of communication. Like I said earlier, communication 'is' the new power! Besides, simpler the communication, the better the rate of its success. This is what I'm exploring, experimenting and sharing with all of you here at maktion. I'm here to make you experience creativity.

Some of you ask 'Why the name maktion?' Well, thats another exciting story and can be separately talked over a cup of coffee, what say? Come, let's connect, let's converse.

If you have anything to share or have a feedback (criticism is welcome with open arms) on maktion or simply want some suggestion, then feel free to write to me by clicking here. I hope you find something of your interest here at maktion.

Be creative, have fun!
A.
